How to change indian timezone in ubuntu in Ec2 instance?

Check the current timezone timedatectl

  Universal time: Thu 2019-12-19 09:46:58 UTC
        RTC time: Thu 2019-12-19 09:46:58
       Time zone: Etc/UTC (UTC, +0000)
 Network time on: yes
NTP synchronized: yes

       Time zone: Asia/Kolkata (IST, +0530)
 Network time on: yes
NTP synchronized: yes
 RTC in local TZ: no

use tzselect command to change time zone in EC2 ubuntu. Then put the selected timezone in in ~/.bashrc file , and run the command echo "Asia/Kolkata" | sudo tee /etc/timezone, then restart your system sudo reboot.

You can make this change permanent for yourself by appending the line
	TZ='Asia/Kolkata'; export TZ
to the file '.profile' in your home directory; then log out and log in again.

Here is that TZ value again, this time on standard output so that you
can use the /usr/bin/tzselect command in shell scripts:
Asia/Kolkata
